Without a second thought, you packed some food, almost certain that Netalia and Yekaterina were going to be half starved to death on site. And if you were going to save Ivan… who knew how long you were going to be. You frowned, and packed bandages as well. As many as you could carry.

You nodded in satisfaction, picked up the sharpened wood shard you had found and tucked it into the worn belt around your thin waist. You also grabbed the hunting knife from your wall and an old, broken arrowhead you had found on the outskirts of a place you and Ivan had found… Lithuania or something.

Trudging through the snow was easier than ever with the winds having died down. Not to mention the adrenaline rush you were undergoing. The anger that coursed through your veins kept you warm enough to keep going through the night. And chewing on the bit of leather you kept distracted your pathetic hunger. You felt stronger and more ready for anything than ever.

After an hour or so, you found it. Of course… it was hard to miss. The castle was higher than any other in the land. The flags of different colonies around stood at the front, and you instantly saw Ivan's. This only set your determination forward, and you clenched your teeth. Netalia's and Yekaterina's were right next to it. You clenched your teeth and leaped, catching onto the expensive fabric and began to climb. Whenever a guard came by, you hid yourself in the waving cloth until the danger passed. Finally, you reached the top of the wall.

Jumping down, you made sure no one was around before you slipped over behind a statue of Tartar himself. Admittedly, you thought the thing was far from accurate. The cold stone didn't capture the malice and bloodthirst  in his disgusting eyes, and the horrible smirk he always wore was absent from the face of it. You spat angrily at its feet before beginning to climb up the side of the building. It was pretty easy for the most part because of all of the carvings in the walls. Tartar was definitely picky about the value of his home. He thought himself a king.

Perhaps he well may be, but he didn't have respect from his subjects. That was the only thing you were certain about. There were millions of people in his kingdom, but only a small amount of those people were loyal to him. Obviously you were not one of the loyals. But that  didn't matter to you. You were loyal to only one person: Ivan Braginski.

Near the second floor, you found an air vent for smoke. You smiled as you easily pulled it from the side of the beautiful architecture and threw it to the ground, where it landed with a small "thud" in the snow. Then, you slipped your tiny (age) year old body into it. It was warm… in fact, so warm that you thought you would bake. It smelled deliciously of cedar wood and cinnamon. Rarities outside of this palace.

You silently crawled through until you suddenly heard voices. You froze as you recognized them.

"Yekaterina… Netalia…" You whispered.

"LEAVE BIG BROTHER ALONE!" Netalia cried. "HE ONLY RAN AWAY BECAUSE YOU WERE KILLING HIM!!!"  she sobbed. You peeked down to see a sight that you never would have imagined. Ivan was unconscious on the floor, surrounded by a puddle of crimson. Netalia was standing over him protectively, wearing her tattered and torn blue dress. The once beautiful ribbons around her waist were now stained and torn with abuse, and her gorgeous hair was now tangled and dull.

Yekaterina was on the ground with her brother, cradling his head protectively into her small chest. (yes… she was still a kid my friends.) Her cheek was swollen so badly that her eye was almost swelled shut. Her hair had a large stain of blood in it too. Her yellow dress was next to destroyed in its wear and tear.

"He has disobeyed me, and must now pay the price. ZHONGGUO!!! (China in it's native tongue)" He shouted. You heard a yelp of nervousness come from somewhere, then saw a young man come into view. He was short, had a red Asian looking outfit on that was just as worn and torn as everyone elses. His hair was long, down to his waist and brown… like chocolate. You knew right away that he wasn't from around here. (Note: A significant number of Volga Tatars emigrated during the Russian Civil War, mostly to Turkey and Harbin, China. According to the Chinese government, there are still 5,100 Tatars living in Xinjiang province.)

"Y- yes aru?" the man said.

"Get this swine out of my sight. I'll deal with them later, when I'm done with this one." He said, pointing at Ivan. The man gulped and nodded.

"sh-shi shifu…" (yes sir) He said in a trembling voice. You watched in horror as the man gently took Yekaterina and Netalia by their arms and led them away from their unconscious brother.

Unable to watch as you heard Tartar hitting Ivan to wakefulness, you army-crawled to wherever the man was taking Yekaterina and Netalia. Finally you came to a room that looked much like a medical room. But it was so unkept that you felt like it was more of a prison.

"You need to get your brother to keep out of trouble aru." The man said. "He's going to get himself killed."

"He just won't listen to us! He always want's to go see (y/n) all of the time!" Yekaterina said. "I'm glad she takes care of us… but I hate how they get hurt because of us!" She cried, hugging the man. "What can I do china?! I'm the oldest… what will I do if brother gets killed??"

China looked at her and Netalia. His eyes were soft. Both of the girls were crying so hard…

"I know how you feel aru. Really, I do. I have a little brother at home who is all by himself." He said. "But I have to believe that he is strong enough to take care of himself until I can get away." He said. "So you need to keep that faith in your brother… and (y/n). Okay aru?"

You felt a feeling of warmth spread through you, and smiled. "well, I'd better do my end of the deal then." You decided. With that, you repositioned yourself in the vent, and kicked the wooded panel out of the ceiling. The three jumped in fright as you jumped down and landed perfectly right in front of them.

"I'm gonna get you out of here." You said. "But we have to get your brother first."

"(y/n)!" Yekaterina cried, throwing her arms around you. "Oh you shouldn't have come! Tartar will kill you!" She said.

"Not if I kill him first." You said. All three of Tartar's victims looked at you like you were crazy.

"Aiya! But he's so powerful! What makes you think you can take on him? You're not even a nation!" China said worriedly. You smiled at him.

"Because I made a promise, and I'm going to keep it if it's the last thing I do."
FINALLY! Kay, I know. It's later than I promised to some... but give me a break. I'm traveling. DX

Anyways... tell me what you think! IF you want something in particular to happen... tell me. Because :icontoxic-x-lust: told me to "Make it really long! Like Realllly long!"

She also told me to make it mature... so the next one will be rated for violence. Lots of violence. XD so you get to look forward to that you killer...

yeah....

Enjoy!
